About PlanSieve
A planning engine whose first application is demand
PlanSieve is built by planning practitioners, people who have spent long enough on the planning floor to know that the category’s real failure is trust, not accuracy, and to want the thing that could never be bought: an engine that speaks the business’s vocabulary, proves its own numbers, and shows its work.
The mission
Don’t build a demand tool. Build a planning engine whose first application is demand.
Most planning software is a tool welded to one problem. It solves demand, or inventory, or merchandise, and it does so by baking that problem’s vocabulary into its core, so the next problem is a new product, and the next customer is a multi-year project.
We set out to build the engine first: a metadata-driven planning platform where the data model, the math, the interface, the connectors and the storage engine are all pluggable, so any planning problem, in any industry, is configuration on one core, from a single site to a global network. The demand module is the first application of that engine. It is not the engine.
The soul of it is one idea: unity in diversity. One universal skeleton; any business’s vocabulary and math on top.
The thesis
Engine behind contracts, not fused to a schema
The legacy planning suites fuse their engine to their schema: item, location and customer are baked into the core, so every new question is a migration. We refused that fusion. The data model, the math, the interface, the connectors and even the storage engine sit behind eight contracts, each with swappable adapters. That is the engine claim, and the platform core passed every one of its acceptance gates before the first module was written.
The product claim sits on top of it: a planner gets a surface where every setting is a switch they own, every number explains itself, and a verdict takes one gesture. The platform grades its own work: accuracy, bias, forecast value added. And it will tell you when a human change made the plan worse.

The name
Why a sieve
A sieve is the whole idea. The complexity of a business goes in: its dimensions, its history, its drivers, its exceptions, its thousand small policies. And what comes out is a plan that can be asked why. The engine does the separating; the planner keeps the judgement.
We did not coin a name for the engine. The sieve is the concept, and the tagline is the mechanism.

How we work
Three habits we will not drop
Measured, not promised.
Every performance claim is a test with a millisecond ceiling that fails the build. Every number we publish carries its framing, our lab, our own test data, and its caveat. The table.
Nothing is a black box.
Every number is traceable to its inputs, its formula or model, its version, and who or what produced it. If we cannot explain a number, we do not show it as if we could.
Say only what is true today.
Demand is the module available today; the rest is carried by the data model by design and listed that way. No customer proof, no accuracy uplift, no certification, until each one exists.
