Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to read this site and use its forms, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and the site is built to it rather than patched towards it afterwards.
How the site is built
- Every page has one main heading, named landmarks, and a skip link to the content.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every control.
- Both colour themes are checked for contrast; text and interface colours clear the AA ratios on the grounds they sit on.
- Motion is limited to a single short entrance per section and is switched off entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Forms have visible labels, inline error messages tied to their fields, and announce their pending and success states.
- Nothing autoplays. Every product frame carries a written description of what it shows.
- Text can be resized to 200% and the layout reflows to a narrow screen without horizontal scrolling.
What we test
On every build, automatically: the axe-core rules for WCAG 2.2 AA and a Lighthouse accessibility audit on a representative set of pages, both of which must pass before a change can be published; every page goes through the same gate before a release. Before a release, by hand: keyboard-only navigation of every page and form; contrast in both themes; the reduced-motion setting; zoom to 200%; and the reading order, headings and form labels as the page exposes them.
Known limitations
- The product frames on the walkthrough and elsewhere are screenshots. Each carries a written description of what it shows, but the text inside a frame is a picture and is not itself readable by assistive technology.
- The verification check on the two form pages is provided by a third party; we have configured it to work without a visual puzzle, but its widget is not ours to fix.
- The film, when it arrives, will carry captions; there is no video on the site today.
